About Changing Mental Health

Changing Mental Health is a San Francisco-based nonprofit born from a deep commitment to addressing gaps in mental health care, particularly for underserved communities. Founded by advocates, healthcare professionals, and community members, we were driven by a shared frustration with systemic barriers – long wait times, limited provider options, and inadequate services – that left many without the care they deserved.

Why We Exist

Our journey began with a resolve to transform the mental health care system. We witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals, especially those reliant on government insurance, navigating a system that often failed them. Changing Mental Health is our promise to provide accessible, equitable, and compassionate care while advocating for systemic change.
